VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS 2024 ARE LIVE!

Volunteers are integral to The Princess Project’s success in making prom a reality for disadvantaged teenagers. Year after year, we witness first-hand how one person can influence hundreds of lives. In conjunction with The Princess Project, 600+ volunteers in the past 10 years have enriched prom experiences for more than 20,000 teens.

Create (or re-live!) prom memories by volunteering at The Princess Project Dress Giveaways. We hope we have a chance to work with you at one of the following events!

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

WHO CAN VOLUNTEER AT PPSV? We invite all women, ages 18 and older and out of high school to volunteer as a personal shopper during the actual giveaway. If you’re in high school and would like to participate in The Princess Project as a volunteer, we welcome your support during our set-up or tear-down times, as well as hosting a dress drive at your school!

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER? Click here to sign up!

WHAT DO I WEAR? Most importantly…comfortable shoes and casual attire, as you will be on the move! You will be given a PPSV apron to wear. Bring a vest or light jacket if you’re working a morning shift!

WHAT SHOULD I BRING? IS THERE A PLACE TO PUT MY STUFF? You are welcome to bring bottled water, but please keep in mind there is no food allowed on the floor so be sure to eat before your shift! Try to keep your belongings limited to what you can put in your pockets or purse as storage is limited. Crossbody bags are recommended!

HOW WILL I KNOW WHAT TO DO? There will be a volunteer shift leader who will give you instructions at the beginning of your shift.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE? Plan to arrive about 15-30 minutes early for your shift.

WHERE DO I PARK? The shopping center has ample free parking. We prefer to leave the parking spaces close to the front door open for our clients, so please be mindful of priority parking spaces. Please make sure all of your valuables are secure.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS? We have designated photo-op spaces set up at the site. No photos are permitted in the dressing rooms!

WHERE DO I CHECK IN? At the front desk upon entering the space.

WHAT WILL I BE ASKED TO DO AS A VOLUNTEER? There are quite a few different options for volunteers. Plan to be on your feet for the entire shift. There are some lifting and carrying responsibilities. All fairy godmother/personal shopper volunteers will have an opportunity to interact with our guests.

WHAT IF I HAVE ITEMS TO DONATE? Donations are accepted any time that we are open. For a donation receipt, please email volunteerppsv@princessproject.org!

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW AS A VOLUNTEER? We ask that you remember that this event is ALL ABOUT the teens we serve! Smile, be polite, be encouraging, and be supportive. It is not our role to judge on any level - dress color, style, fit - but you may suggest!
